Terms of use

The short version

zap.ms and Message Center Archive (mc.merill.net) are free community sites run by Merill Fernando as a Jozra service. By using them, and by signing in, you agree to these terms and to the community guidelines.

Your account

• You need to be at least 16 to have an account.
• One person, one account. Keep access to your email secure, since that is how you sign in.
• You are responsible for what is done with your account.

What you post

• You keep ownership of what you write. By posting it you give us permission to show it on zap.ms and Message Center Archive, and through their feeds and API. That permission lasts until the post or comment is deleted, and it continues if you delete your account: what you posted then stays, shown as from “Deleted user”.
• You can delete a post or comment of yours at any time, and you can ask us to erase one.
• Only post what you have the right to share. Do not post confidential information, including anything covered by a non-disclosure agreement, or other people's personal details.
• Follow the community guidelines. They are part of these terms.

Moderation

We can hide or remove posts and comments, and suspend or close accounts, when we think the guidelines or these terms have been broken, or to protect the community. We try to be fair, but the decision is ours.

Not affiliated with Microsoft

These are independent community sites. They are not run, sponsored or endorsed by Microsoft. Microsoft, Microsoft 365, Entra and other product names are trademarks of the Microsoft group of companies.

Message Center and roadmap content is reproduced to help administrators follow changes. The official source is always Microsoft's own Message Center; check it before acting on a change.

Posts, comments and links come from members. We do not check them for accuracy and they are not professional advice. Sites we link to are not ours and have their own terms.

No warranty

The sites are provided as they are, without promises that they will always be available, complete or correct. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of them. Nothing here removes rights you have under Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.

Closing your account

You can stop using the sites at any time, and you can delete your account from your profile. Deleting it erases your personal details straight away and cannot be undone. Your username is retired, so nobody else can take it.

Your posts and comments stay, shown as from “Deleted user”. Delete any you want gone before you delete your account, or email hello@zap.ms afterwards to have a particular one erased.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when. Continuing to use the sites after a change means you accept it.

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts there.
