A home for the Microsoft community
zap.ms is where MVPs, IT admins and everyone who works with Microsoft technology day to day share what they know: the blog post you just published, the tool you built, the thing that broke in your tenant last week and how you fixed it.
For the people who do the work
This is a place for the tech folks. The practitioners: the people who run the tenants, write the scripts, answer the tickets and help each other out at midnight. It is somewhere for us to hang out, and that is the whole focus. No marketing and no sales pitches.
- A blog post you wrote, a video you made or a talk you gave.
- A tool, a script or a project you built.
- A question about what a change really means, or a warning about what broke.
- What happened when a Message Center post reached your tenant.
The community likes and replies, and the good stuff rises.
So we can find each other
Our community is scattered across LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Discord servers and a few hundred blogs. Good people and good work are easy to miss. Here, everyone is on the People page with what they work on, so you can find the ones who do what you do and follow them. MVPs and Microsoft employees carry a verified badge, so you know who you are talking to.
Why it exists
The official channels tell you what is changing. The community tells you what it means. That conversation has always happened at the grass roots, between admins and practitioners, and it deserves a place of its own.
It started with the Message Center Archive. Every Message Center post became easy to find, but there was nowhere to talk about them. Now each one has its own discussion here, next to everything else the community shares.
One person builds this
zap.ms is built and run by one person: me, Merill. There is no team and no funding behind it. I work on it in my own time because I like tinkering, building things and sharing them to see where they will go.
So please be forgiving. Things will fall over, and some things will not work the way they should. When that happens, just let me know and I will fix it: mention @merill in a post, or email hello@zap.ms. If there is something you wish it did, tell me that too.
Taking part
Sign in, add your interests to your profile, share something you made and reply to someone else. Anyone working with Microsoft technology is welcome. We keep it friendly here; the community guidelines are short and worth a read.
